Our little Valentine's Day.

Glenn and I don't go out for Valentine's Day anymore. Weve decided it is much more fun as a family holiday. Instead, I go all out and we have a fabulous dinner as a family. That is why our boys have tasted filet mignon and creme brulee. Never to early to start teaching them about the good stuff right?

They really liked the creme brulee.

Fun Learning

Each of my boys got foam dart guns in their stockings. It is too funny to hear Nicholas say "bull- its."

"C" is for caterpillar. We have a letter of the week each week so Nicholas can learn his letters.
Robert gets in on the fun too with crafts and worksheets.

"B" is for bear gummy bear graph.

Robert had quite an accident in January. His forehead hit a chair just right and it split open. He had to have 8 internal and 12 external stitches. All I can say is "NO MORE MONKEYS JUMPING ON THE BED."

We can't pass up an opportunity to make something fun out of a good box.

We have letter pancakes each week and the boys love them.

Cool dude.

Robert got a science kit for Christmas and has had fun doing the experiments with his daddy.

Lookin for bugs. Of course it would be hard to find one when you actually want one.

Setting a leaf on fire with a magnifying glass.

Nicholas doesn't quite understand baseball yet.

We made Mary Ann from "Mike Mulligan and his Steam Shovel" out of cardboard and now Robert thinks we should be able to make everything out of cardboard.

Super Nicholas

Christmas at Our House

We had a wonderful Christmas this year at the Welling house. The boys were both old enough to enjoy the festivities and Robert was really able to participate in the baking and crafts. Nicholas didn't understand what was going on, but he understood that it was fun and made it his mission to daily strip the Christmas tree of all the ornaments within his reach.
There is always a lot of baking going on at our house, but it goes into overdrive for the holidays. I loved that this year, Robert was actually enthusiastic about helping bake and not just helping eat.

Robert made cupcake ornaments to give out on Christmas Eve.

Homemade jelly doughnuts Daddy's first day off.

Peanut looked so cute in big brother's winter hat.

Christmas Eve.

Christmas morning at home.

Nicholas got an African music cd. He LOVES music and will drop whatever he is doing to dance. he really got into at the zoo when we visited the new African Forest, so we thought he needed this cd. I think he is going to be my musical one. He started singing months ago and has an uncanny ability to repeat melodies he hears. It melts my heart to hear him sing.

Super hero capes from Mommy.

Robert's big gift: a big crane truck. He was in heaven.

Second Christmas at Gigi and Grandaddy's house.

Fourth Christmas at Mimi and Boopa's house.

Nicholas really is the biggest ham imaginable.

Our advent calendar that I made a few years ago. This year, we had devotions for each day and I made dough ornaments to correspond to those.

Fun on the trampoline they got from Gigi and Grandaddy.
